WordPress is an incredibly popular open-source CMS based on PHP. Although typically used as a Blogging platform, the WordPress community has developed hundreds of plugins, or add-ons, that enable WordPress to do almost anything.

When designing customer sites, we often choose between WordPress and Drupal to provide CMS features. Drupal is often the CMS chosen when a customer site involves product galleries and online sales, while WordPress can usually handle almost everything else.
